Two historic and lovely places.
On the way to Pula.
Croatia is on the Adriatic Sea, with about 2,000km of rocky coast line. Pula and Rovinj, are just
two of the lovely places in the country. Pula as an airport about 6km away. There is a Train
station and Bus station, also Ferry Port.] I arrived in Pula at the bus station. Then walked the short distance to the Hotel Scaletta, where i stayed 3 nights, The hotel was in a good location, only 300m from the Roman Arena. -- From the bus station i took the
45 minute journey to Rovinj, which is situated on the North Adriatic Sea, on the Istrian Peninsula. The
old town is compact and easy to walk around. The main attraction for me was the
climb up the bell tower of St.Euphemia Church. The stairs were wood and sturdy, but they creaked. The last part of the climb was a ladder,to appear through the trap door in the floor of the bell tower. The church is on the highest part of Rovinj.

Lovely weather, lovely people and lovely places.---This trip was in 2010, i found transport difficult at times. There are Ferries, Trains and Buses, advice is study the timetables very carefully. ---- I continued on to Trieste Italy,by bus ,taking 3 hours, with one change. I understand that the train takes 9 hours with 4 changes.
